FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need a reservation? No, Walk-ups are welcome! You do not need a reservation for regular rentals, which we offer on a first come, first served basis. We do offer reservations for parties of 15 or more people on weekdays. Groups of 10 or more may make a reservation by calling (469) 348-8393. What forms of payment do you accept? We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. We do not accept cash. Do you offer an all-day rate? How does it work? Yes! Our "all-day" rate is available on all SUPs and kayaks. Know this: the all-day rate is not a come-and-go option, meaning you can not start your rental, return it for lunch, and then paddle again after lunch. You can stay out on the water all day, but once you return the boats back to the dock, the rental ends. When checking in, you can choose to pay for 1 hour, 2 hours, or for the all-day rate. If you choose the all-day rate, you pay the max fee upfront and can paddle as long as you want. Just make sure you return the boats and close your ticket before we close. If you aren't sure whether you want the all-day rate upfront, you can still choose one or two hours upfront and if you end up staying out longer, charges will accrue until you reach the all-day max pricing. Is there nearby parking? Yes, there is limited parking in the lot adjacent to Dallas Paddle Co. Additional lots are available throughout the park. Check the map on our home page for proximities. What are your hours of operation? In prime season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) we are open weekdays from 10 am to 7:30 pm and weekdays from 8 am to 7:30 pm. In our shoulder seasons, we are closed Monday through Thursday and open Fridays 10 am to 7:30 pm, and Weekends from 8 am to 7:30 pm. How long can I be out on the water? You are welcome to stay out on the water as long you prefer; however, you must return your boats BEFORE we close. Make sure to check our current hours of operation as they change throughout the year. Do you provide life vests? Yes, we provide life vests at no extra charge for all customers. All children aged 14 and under must wear a life vest. All others must have a life vest with them. Are we permitted to bring alcohol with us on the lake? City laws prohibit you from bringing alcoholic beverages with you to White Rock Lake Park. Dallas Police Department patrols the park and may issue citations to violators. Are dogs allowed? Dogs up to 30 lbs. are permitted on kayaks and paddle boards. As a courtesy to others, all dogs must remain on the leash and under owners' control at all times. We do not carry life jackets for dogs; this and other safety considerations for the pet are the responsibility of the owner. What is the minimum age for kids to paddle on their own? Kids aged 16 and older may rent without a parent provided they have a parent-signed waiver. Kids aged 10 to 15 may paddle their own kayaks or stand-up paddleboards provided their parents are on the water with them. What is the minimum age for kids to be on the water? The minimum age for passengers in a tandem kayak is 6, provided the child’s parents are on the water with him or her. We have life vests of all sizes. Do you have summer camps for kids? Summer Camps are coming soon! Are there toilets? Yes, we have porta-potties. Do you have changing rooms or lockers? No, but you are welcome to change in a porta-pottie. We do provide each customer with a box for small items such as wallets, purses, keys, and phones. Where can I leave my stuff? We provide each customer with a box for small items such as wallets, keys and phones. We strongly suggest leaving all non essential items and valuables at home. Do we need paddling experience to rent? Everyone receives instruction on how to operate the kayaks, canoes, or stand-up paddleboard on the ramp before launching. Paddling is very safe and we will teach you what you need to know for a safe and fun time on White Rock Lake! Can I launch my own boat from your dock? Yes, you are welcome to launch your own equipment from our ramp. We want to create a community around Dallas Paddle Co. What discounts do you have? We offer military, student and teacher discounts with valid identification. Is there a limit to how long I can rent? You may stay out as long as you want, provided you return by close.
